Events at Alteus

We typically run events in the shop every 2-3 months. These are usually themed either around a country or a style of wine. Whilst there is an element of ‘education’, it is more about offering people the opportunity to try wines they may not have had before. They are always fun and relaxed, which is the most important thing! But, don’t take our word for it, come and join us at our next event. As part of the ticket price, we offer 5/6 wines, as well as a few nibbles and discount on purchases on the night.

We also run two complimentary tastings every year. These are non-ticketed, drop in events we run on set weekends. We advertise these well in advance, so you have plenty of notice.

Our Grand Spring Tasting is a chance for us to showcase many of the new lines we source at that time of year. There can be as many as 12 of show. This normally happens late March/early April.

Our Christmas Tasting is by far the most popular of the year. It takes place late November and we showcase wines for every part of the Christmas menu. There will be sparkling wines, through to dessert wines and Port. It is always a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.

Our next event

Our next event is Thursday 22nd June. We will be heading to Italy to sample some of the lovely wines this country has to offer. We have always been particularly proud of our Italian range and we have recently added a few new exciting lines that we would love to share. Tickets are available by searching for 'Tasting' in the product search. Just select click and collect as the checkout option and we will email to confirm your place. We kick off at 6.30pm and wrap things around 8.30pm. Nibbles are served with the wines and you get discount on wines on the night. Tickets are £15 per head.
